Computer Software Market Overview
International Market Insight In 2004, two main factors may detain the growth of the software imports, in which the U.S. has a 60 percent share of the import market: the effect of the devaluation, which makes dollar denominated products three times more expensive, and the Argentine highly qualified human resources for software development. Even though imports may decrease, total software revenues are expected to increase significantly. Argentina is in good condition to become an important Latin America exporter of software and related services since the costs and quality of software development can compare to those of India. Only large implementations from main vendors, such as CRM, ERP, data-warehousing, or niche applications for security solutions, business intelligence, e-government, electronic voting systems may find some market opportunities in 2004/2005 as the economy picks up. The increasing economic and industrial activities however, also present good market potential for software solutions, in both the corporate and the SMEs segment. Vendors such as Microsoft, Oracle, Novell, EMC, Siebel, SAP, IBM will continue to supply the market with traditional and new value added solutions.
